Tim Luck Luck – The name says it ALL. It offers remarkable Punjabi food with desi tadka and some really chic names of the dishes with palatable spices in every bite.
This truly was an awesome Dhaba experience coupled with desi Punjabi interiors; this place is definitely worth a visit! It gives you Dhaba “feels” in the chaotic city. Put up in Kokne Chowk, Pimple Saudagar, this is a go to place whenever we crave for some authentic Punjabi food. The whole setup is miraculous; you see rickshaws, khatiyas, Amritsar barigates, truck tyres, pital ka glass; this restaurant takes you to Punjab with their décor & look and feel. With Punjabi songs playing in the background and the truck slogans everywhere, the place will definitely steal your heart away. Any Dhaba is open 24×7 and Tim Luck Luck serves you happiness 24×7 through their food!
The vivacious and lively ambience is surely the first thing that one will witness. With big wall lights and idiosyncratic props, a lot of effort has been taken to make it look like a typical Punjabi style Dhabha. The menu has North Indian specialities and several Chinese options as well. It’s rich. It’s robust. It’s diverse.
To begin with, we had –
Their big Patiala glass of desi Chaas which gave us a good amount of spicy jhatka, after all, Punjabi khaane ke saath chaas is “sone pe suhaaga”
Starters
Kukkad dum matka – That’s their signature dish with well-marinated chicken in fresh cream making it soft and tender and is slow cooked with bhuna masala. The Charm of mint chutney and thunder of hung curd with desi ghee did its magic.
Paneer tikka tunu tunu – Well, it’s unbelievable but they source paneer from Punjab which is the secret behind their soft, tender and juicy paneer which simply melts in your mouth. It was served on the sizzling pan. This dish was juicy and the spiked rum over the malai paneer added magic to this dish.
Chicken taipi – Let us walk you through the pleasure of eating this crispy, juicy fried chicken: You’ve got this shimmering drumstick with a coating so full of crispy ripples that it is hard to determine where to hold on. You decide fingertips are best for manoeuvring this chicken from the plate to your mouth. As you bring it closer you can smell the spices — garlic, onion, pepper, and even the smokey paprika. That first bite is a real stunner. As you dig in, the crust cracks audibly and reveals juicy chicken that is as flavorful as that irresistible crust. After having this, we realized not only their desi Punjabi food but also their Chinese food is up to the mark.
Main course
Makki di roti aur Sarson da saag – The classic Punjabi dish which is best had with some homemade white butter and jaggery is a drool-worthy combo at this restaurant. Along with a steaming hot makki di roti and a dollop of butter or ghee this dish is a yummy and lip smacking treat to your taste buds.
Dildaara rahra – This tender boneless chicken kebabs cooked in a spicy chicken gravy is sure to steal the heart of all the chicken lovers out there! The chefs truly have magic in their hands as their perfectly spiced boneless chicken simply did magic to our taste buds.
Desserts
After the amazing starters and main course, it was desserts time. We were excited to have Jalebi Rabri, as we saw a nicely decorated Jalebi junction and we knew we had to end our meal with this. The best part of this was rabri because it had the right amount of sweet in it which made us enjoy jalebi rabri even more. The jalebi alone was a bit bitter in taste and could have been better which would have added 5 stars to this dining experience.
The entire experience at Tim Luck Luck was nothing less than ‘foodful’. Mr. Clifford and Mr. Joseph were amazing hosts and suggested some amazing dishes to try. We would also like to thank Bhairav Rai for the amazing service. We literally gulped down the food in no time as the food was so divine. A must try place for everyone who loves to eat amazing desi food!
Trying one truck slogan – “Ghumte hai hum aur lagti hai bhuk, Tim Luck Luck bolta hai tu idhar aake rukh!”
