There’s never a wrong time of the day to have desserts! It’s something which in my perspective can be consumed when one is in high spirits or feeling gloomy, it definitely makes one feel better. There’s dessert for every mood and one thing is guaranteed, Pune will never disappoint you if you have a sweet tooth! So here are few drool-worthy restaurants which I visited last month hunting for best desserts in town.
Wafflin Around
This place is a hidden gem when it comes to variety in waffles. Experimenting with different ingredients and then coming up with combinations that compliment each other, is what this place has perfected. Trendy and cozy interiors, bean bag seating, Insta wall highlighting all the bloggers who visited the place, and not to forget their interesting variety of sweet and savory waffles, is what makes this beautiful place stand out.
What we had:-
DBC ice cream waffles – Deadly in love with chocolates? Then you need to go for Death by chocolate (DBC) ice cream waffles which is nothing but our favourite combo of two things (chocolate ice cream and waffles) put together and trust me there’s nothing more irresistible than this one! The waffles were crunchy and the Nutella with chocolate ice cream did magic to this! With Belgian cocoa waffle, Nutella, chocolate fudge and real Madagascar chocolate ice cream, this waffles is a chocolate lovers paradise! Must try!
Matcha tender coconut waffles – Everyone has been obsessing over Matcha these days and all the rave about it isn’t without a warrant. Matcha tea is nothing but finely powdered green tea leaves, and the combination of matcha in waffles is what surprised us. You often picture a certain taste in your mind when you see green, but it’s the first bite completely stunned us with different and unique flavours. The tender coconut ice cream sandwiched between the waffles creating a heavenly combination. I was quite hesitant at the beginning as the colour of the waffle did not really look appealing, also I did not know how exactly the matcha would taste, but brownie points to “Wafflin’ Around” FOR CREATING magic with this waffle! It’s something you gotta try and this has become our new favorite.
Red velvet with cream cheese freakshake – I am kind of obsessed with Red velvet and somehow can’t resist myself when I read this name on the menu, I simply have to try it out. Though I have had my share of good and bad freakshakes, this Red velvet with cream cheese freakshake was an absolute delight!!! This insanely indulgent freakshake comes with red velvet, cream cheese and red velvet waffle on the top. What we liked about this is that it wasn’t that sweet which makes it tastier and easier to finish. The cream cheese balances the sweetness and the red velvet waffle on the top adds its charm.
Coldstone
It’s time to scream out loud for the love of ice cream because Cold Stone Creamery has finally come to Pune at Phoenix Market City, Viman Nagar and we can’t be happier.There’s never a wrong time of the day to have ice creams! And is definitely considered as a mood changer.
Coming to the Cold Stone table concept, where cold marble or metal tables serve as a canvas to mix scoops of different ice cream flavours along with toppings. This process is done with a metal ladle/knife that is used to “stone” which basically means chop and mix the ice cream giving it a gorgeous and creamy texture. Needless to say that it tastes yummmm!
So, we tried the Salted Caramel ice cream which blew my mind! I am a big fan of caramel and I was glad they did not make it too sweet and this rich buttery salted caramal stayed true to its name.
Hot chocolate cookie ice cream – This hot rich chocolate cookie topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate crush simply made it a delicious treat to my taste buds. Melting gooey chocolate in the middle and the scoop of vanilla and whipped cream simply makes it irresistible. Next up was the scoops of Cotton candy and fudge brownie batter – It’s galvanizing, chilling and simply transports you to some other world. Cotton candy makes me walk down the memory lane and reminds me of my childhood. Both the ice creams tasted amazing.

Red velvet Freakshake – Why would you take the effort of eating a cake when now you can drink it!
This café has got the magical abilities to create such a masterpiece and it’s nothing but flawless! This beauty is – ‘smooth, crisp and all dressed in red’. The shake looks outstanding both inside and out with slathers of red velvet and cookies and chocolate sticks! It is then topped with a layer of red velvet, freshly made whipped cream cheese frosting, another layer of cake and more frosting. This incredible, show-stopping Red Velvet Milkshake, a thick and creamy cake-in-a-Jar is an absolute must-have and quite filling!
Nutella Brownie waffles – One bite of these soft, chewy brownies and you won’t believe they were 10x better than your regular brownies with a magic of Nutella doing wonders in the waffle!! These irresistibly fudgy treats are sure to delight you. These incredible brownie waffles have a fudgy yet cakey texture, with that classic creamy Nutella flavor. They’re absolutely addictive, especially if you are a chocoholic!
These sinful desserts give you the guilty pleasures but are absolutely irresistible so if you are in or around Pune, do visit them up to satisfy your dessert cravings.
