Wok & Co – IBIS One Central, Dubai

Dubai is known as the culinary capital and if you are looking for an exceptional Pan-Asian Cuisine in Dubai’s central business district, then Wok & Co is the place for you.

The décor is gorgeous, adorned in dark wood with rich red and orange hues, we selected the cute little pod for ourselves and was all prepared to experience sights, sounds, scents, and flavors. In fact, each table is arranged in such a way that you get a very exclusive feeling which is an added advantage.

You can also pair your meal with imported spirits, beers, wines and cocktails from all over Asia to enhance your dining experience.

Starters

Now coming to the most awaited part, our food experience. Whether you love sushi or stir fry seafood, Street styled Wok or gourmet biryani, there’s a signature dish for every taste and preference.

For starters we went ahead with the delicious Avocado Sushi which is a “must try” if you are in a Pan-Asian restaurant. Next, we had Dynamite Prawns. The crispy fried prawns coated with spicy tangy mayo sauce is first slathered in flour and batter and then fried to give you a soul-satisfying taste. Both the starters were an instant hit on the table.

I’m not a fan of Salads but Thai salad is welcome any day! This Somtam Thai Salad with crunchy carrots, green papaya, tomatoes are a perfect combination and what adds to the flavor is their crushed peanuts with chili.

Main Course

For the main course, we ordered the veg Thai green curry which is a classic Thai crowd-pleaser prepared without any meat yet with all the flavors intact just like the original. The Thai green curry was served with brown rice. We also went ahead with Tofu Chi Chi which had a very rich and creamy texture and paired it up with Soba Noodles which is one of the widely known noodles in the streets of Japan.

After having the best of Thailand and Japan, how could we leave Indian food? We also tried the Classic Chicken biryani prepared in a very Indian Style. Hard to believe that a restaurant which specializes in Thai & Japanese food can serve such an authentic Chicken Biryani with a perfect blend of spices.

Desserts

We ended our beautiful meal with Asian inspired dessert Lemongrass Crème Brûlée. So, it is fusion, but fusion in the hands of an acknowledged expert. Hence, this dessert stole my heart. We also had their classic Cheesecake which was quite creamy in texture, looked really tempting and the taste was absolute bliss.

Overall, we had a lovely dining experience. The food was quite creative, well-thought-out combinations that will surely wow your senses and please your eyes. This beautiful dining experience was enhanced by the service which is perfectly pitched – helpful but not intrusive. Highly recommending this place.
